About the Company

We are a small, newly established tourism company that is already in operation. Everyday life is characterised by close collaboration, short decision-making processes, and a hands-on approach to tasks. Our focus is on delivering great experiences for our guests and ensuring stable and well-functioning operations.

We operate a variety of vehicles for off-road tours, sightseeing, and passenger transport for both small and large groups.

The company is part of a parent organisation with a total of 8 employees, and you will work closely with the owner, office staff, and other colleagues.

The Position

As Operations Manager, you will play a key role in the daily operations. The position is very hands-on and combines planning, coordination, guiding, and direct interaction with guests.

You must thrive in a small company environment where people take responsibility, support each other, and actively contribute to operations – both behind the desk and out on tours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guiding tours in the backcountry

  • Welcoming and handling guests, including VIP guests

  • Operating sightseeing and transport tours

  • Coordinating cruise ship guests and sightseeing activities

  • Daily planning of tours, schedules, and staffing

  • Close collaboration with the owner on quality, safety, and continuous improvements

  • Working closely with office staff and other employees

  • Assisting in the training of new guides and drivers

  • Administrative tasks during quieter periods

We Expect That You

  • Have experience as a guide or within tourism/transport

  • Are well-organised and able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Are service-minded and communicate well with guests

  • Are comfortable handling both regular guests and VIP clients

  • Speak Danish and English

  • Hold a valid category B driving licence

  • Hold a large vehicle licence (D or D1) or are willing to obtain one

  • Are reliable, responsible, and able to work independently

  • Are able to work without extended holidays during the high season (March–September)

The HX Greenland Ambassador is a position representing HX as a key partner to suppliers, local communities, and organizations across Greenland. This role is instrumental in bringing HX closer to Greenlandic communities, ensuring that our operations are culturally respectful, environmentally responsible, and aligned with local needs. The HX Greenland Ambassador will focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with communities, local businesses, and tourism stakeholders to create authentic, meaningful experiences for our guests while supporting Greenlandic communities.

Working closely with the Product Leadership Team, the Greenland Ambassador will play a central role in improving HX’s product offerings in Greenland, including itinerary development, shore experiences, and partnerships with local suppliers. The ideal candidate will be well-connected in Greenland, deeply understand Greenlandic culture, traditions, and tourism dynamics, and be passionate about connecting HX’s brand with the essence of Greenland. This is a unique opportunity to strengthen HX’s presence and reputation in Greenland while driving innovation in how we engage with the region. The Ambassador will support operations during challenges, offering on-the-ground insights, practical solutions, and local connections to help ensure smooth and safe voyages. They will also gather market and destination insights and support collaboration across departments, including Operations and Sales teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and execute responsibilities in a safe manner.
  • Ensure a holistic and strategic mindset towards building and managing strong relationships communities, local businesses, and tourism stakeholders
  • Represent HX in Greenland and act as the main contact for local partners.
  • Collaborate with the Product Leadership Team to enhance itineraries and shore experiences.
  • Provide tourism trends and competitor insights to guide strategy.
  • Act as a local operational support resource, assisting with logistics, guest needs, and community coordination in dynamic situations.
  • Build and Maintain Greenland Gateway relations (Nuuk and Reykjavik) including annual visits to maintain and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure consistency and authenticity in all Greenland programs.
  • Support HX Market Heads and PR/Comms as it relates to representing and championing the HX brand through various media channels and across various stakeholders.
  • Support the Expedition Product Pre/Post Team to map the political landscape in itinerary planning and support voyage planners in building relationships in Greenland.
  • Carefully plan, oversee, execute and evaluate clearly defined strategies, including the ability to proactively identify complex problems, think critically and be open to new ideas
  • Exhibit and champion the HX Purpose and Spirit.

Experience required:

  • Strong network and credibility within Greenland’s tourism and community sectors.
  • Deep cultural understanding and respect for Indigenous perspectives.
  • Proven experience in tourism, community engagement, or destination management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Independent, solutions-focused, and adaptable. Works effectively in a diverse team in a multinational organization.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • Fluency in English and Greenland or Danish, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable with travelling to remote destinations as needed.
  • Demonstrated experience with time management and organizational skills.
